The four novels of Lighthall Books share the same two main characters, Bert Charles and Helen Morgia. They are naturalists, long-time friends, and colleagues at the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Salt Marsh Slider is set in a fictional Florida Gulf Coast community with a fictional new national wildlife refuge. Orebed Lake and Oswegatchie Green are set in a fictional hamlet in the western Adirondack Mountains in New York state.
In Second Wind on the Way of Saint James, Bert and Helen walk the very real Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain and visit both real and fictional places along that thousand year old pilgrimage trail.
